Matoush Uranium Project
In 2006, Strateco set up the Matoush uranium project considered one of the highest-grade uranium projects in the world. The Matoush project is located in the Otish Mountains, about 275 km north of Chibougamau and 210 km northeast of Mistissini (Quebec, Canada).
Strateco was obliged to stop the development of the Matoush project because of the Quebec government's refusal to issue the certificate of authorization for the advanced exploration phase needed to advance the project. Strateco is suing the Quebec government for $200 million for the loss of its investment and punitive damages.
